Inspired by the humour of Tomi Ungerer, Klaas Verplancke designed illustrations and animations for a public communication campaign following the reopening of the Poster House museum in New York, after the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

The Poster House is the first museum in the US fully dedicated to poster design.
The cooperation stemmed from a previous project in which the Poster House collaborated on a public communication campaign of the city of New York, following the first coronavirus lockdown. As a visual common theme, Klaas chose a moving element, or in the case of print, its suggestion. The rolling white poster occupies a central position in both the illustrations and animations of the campaign. The campaign was developed at a fast pace. In one night, Klaas created an animated version and a digital poster of an earlier design. The next day, it appeared on all 1800 digital billboards on the streets of New York, including the screens in Times Square and at the Lincoln Tunnel. The poster design will also be included in the permanent collection at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
