Morphemat® is a medical device that allows healthcare providers in the Intensive Care Department (ICU) to lift patients of up to 150 kg effortlessly from a reclined position to a stable side position. Morphemat® minimizes both the work time and the physical strain on the caregiver.
The Morphemat® is a medical device that allows healthcare providers in the Intensive Care Department (ICU) to lift patients of up to 150 kg effortlessly from a reclined position to a stable side position. For example, patients on the ICU can be repositioned every two hours and this is better for the patient (pressure ulcers, oxygenation, etc. ). Morphemat® minimises both the working time and physical strain (fatigue and back pain) of healthcare providers and has the added advantage that only one person is needed to reposition the patient. The Morphemat® is a patented, CE-marked and reusable flexible mat with two parts that can be inflated separately by means of compressed air. The Morphemat® was created by the multidisciplinary team of Design and Engineering Agency Voxdale, manufacturer Coatex (part of the Sioen Industries group) and the Med-tech company Ergotrics. Ergotrics selected Benelux suppliers for all components.
