Awards 17

Flanders DC presented the Henry van de Velde Awards for the 24th time on de 30th of January, 2017. The ceremony and exhibition were held at Bozar.

The Henry van de Velde Awards showcase and applaud national and international Flemish designers, enterprises, products, projects and services which, as a result of their design or their solution of a given problem, have a positive impact on the economy and society.

The Henry van de Velde Awards are widely supported thanks to the shared vision of a professional jury with considerable expertise in the industry.

The official award ceremony, exhibition and accompanying publication make the Henry van de Velde Awards a true platform for Flemish design.

There were 10 Henry van de Velde Awards issued for products, services or design projects developed after 1 April 2016. These were the 6 categories in which products, projects and services could be entered:

  • Communication
  • Design-led crafts
  • Ecodesign
  • Efficiency
  • Everyday Life
  • Healthcare

The professional jury choose the Lifetime Achievement Award, Company and Young Talent. And the public had the last vote regarding the Henry van de Velde Public Award.
