Chromosome is the collective term for a new range of lab furniture.
This innovative concept offers greater comfort and flexibility. The starting point was “humancentred” design, in which the wishes of the end users (the lab technicians and installers) were key.
After the analysis and concept phases, two tables were selected for further development: the X and Y Chromosome. They are modular and available in every conceivable length, depending on the lab situation and the architect or client. The height is also adjustable, depending on whether the users sit or stand. The tables can be fitted with modular storage cabinets and lab accessories.
Height adjustment of the X Chromosome is manual, whereas the Y model incorporates an automated system that makes it infinitely height-adjustable at the press of a button. A forward-leaning energy bridge makes the electrical points easier to reach. The table top lighting runs along the bottom of this bridge and there are connections for gas, air and water.
The large, 3-metre span creates more legroom.
At the same time, the fume cupboard has been redesigned. Unique to the Chromosome is the seamless internal wall, made of polyester to provide better chemical resistance than the usual melamine or high-pressure laminate coverings.
